Microsoft Unveils New Features in Latest Windows 11 Build

In addition to native support for Sudo commands and improved Bluetooth low-power audio hearing aid connection support, the update also includes a feature that Microsoft did not initially mention in the log: Automatic super resolution.
The new feature, discovered by some users, can be found in Settings->Display Settings->Graphics Settings. The description explains that it uses AI to enhance details and improve the performance of supported games.
While the feature is not enabled in the preview version, users can activate it using the vivetool tool with the command “vivetool /enable /id:39695921 /variant:3”. However, it’s important to note that the feature currently does not have any effect on the game, and users may need to wait for official announcements from Microsoft in the future.
The automatic super-resolution function has specific hardware requirements, as it needs a GPU with a built-in NPU/AI core, including a Tensor core. Notably, the function does not rely on NVIDIA DLSS/VSR and AMD RSR/FSR technologies, but it uses AI to produce clearer and smoother images.
As it stands, there are still unanswered questions about the specific specifications required for the feature to function optimally.
