ROME – Raise your hand who has never mistaken the recipient of an e-mail. Either through inattention, through a trap in the system or through an involuntary Freudian slip. The result? Even catastrophic. Incorrectly addressed email is in fact one of the more serious mistakes in the office – says the Financial Times – and also extraordinarily common. Around 40% of US and UK workers recently emailed the wrong person, and a “surprising 20%” said they lost their jobs as a result.
