SAIC Zhiji to Introduce New Model with Industry-Leading Solid-State Battery Technology
In a recent press conference, SAIC Zhiji announced that their latest model, the L6, will feature the industry’s first mass-produced 900-volt ultra-fast-charging solid-state battery. This innovative technology is set to revolutionize the new energy vehicle market by enabling ultra-long driving ranges of over 1,000 kilometers.
Liu Tao, co-CEO of Zhiji, revealed that the 133 kWh solid-state battery in the L6 will have a CTLC range of more than 1,000 kilometers and a peak charging power of 400 kilowatts. The battery incorporates Zhiji’s self-developed “high ion conductivity, high temperature resistant solid electrolyte” and “dry solid electrolyte layer integrated molding” technology, resulting in significantly reduced internal resistance and ultra-fast charging capabilities.
Solid-state batteries have emerged as a key area of advancement in new energy vehicle technology. Unlike traditional power batteries that use liquid electrolytes, solid-state batteries utilize solid materials as electrolytes, eliminating the need for separators and enhancing safety. The improved ionic conductivity of solid electrolytes allows for higher energy storage capacity and extended battery life compared to liquid batteries.
The introduction of solid-state battery technology in the Zhiji L6 marks a major milestone in the development of new energy vehicles. By pushing the boundaries of battery performance and range, SAIC Zhiji is poised to set a new standard for electric vehicles in the market.
