Zity by Mobilize now available car sharing in Milan: 100% electric and with flat rate

Zity is the new 100% electric short-term rental service resulting from a joint venture between the infrastructure operator Ferrovial and Mobilize, Renault’s mobility company. Milan is the fourth city reached, after Madrid, Paris and the more recent Lyon. After the announcement of his arrival, 6,000 Milanese users have already chosen to pre-register for the service, also thanks to a 50 euro bonus that the operator has promised to the first subscribers.

Zity focuses on free-floating, which means users can locate and rent 100% electric vehicles 24/7 from anywhere within the service area, simply via the app. The fleet is available for rental in an area of 112 km2 within the city of Milan, it is possible to keep the rental also outside the service area but users must still finish the rental within the area.

The Milanese Zity fleet consists of 450 Dacia Spring, a 100% electric four-seater city car with a compact and essential design. It has a range of 305 km (in WLTP City cycle), thanks to the small turning radius it enjoys good maneuverability and offers connectivity functions such as Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Zity takes care of recharging, as well as cleaning the cars.

How much does it cost

Until the end of October, Zity has a fixed promotional rate of 0.23 euros per minute, the cheapest currently available in Milan. It also offers a special ‘Stand By’ rate, which significantly reduces the price per minute (€ 0.12 / min during the promo) and which the user can activate when the vehicle is parked and wants to keep the rental, for example while it is on an appointment or go shopping. At the end of the promotional period the rates will be 0.29 euros per minute for rental and 0.15 euros per minute for parking. Hourly or daily flat rates range from four hours to 3 days: 29 euros for 4 hours, 39 euros for 8 hours, 49 euros for 24 hours, 79 euros for 48 hours and finally 99 euros for a continuous rental of 72 hours, the maximum allowed. They have the advantage of being automatically applied when the car is rented for a long period of time, so the user does not have to choose in advance how long he will keep the car. In fact, the system always applies the best rate for the user; for example, as soon as the rental exceeds 29 euros (approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes), the user can keep the vehicle for up to 4 hours at no additional cost. Finally, for those who plan to use the service a lot, pre-paid packages are available that allow for further savings.
