The 2024 Beijing Radio and Television Station Year of the Dragon Spring Festival Gala has officially released its main logo and main visual, igniting excitement and anticipation for the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations. The theme for this year’s gala is “My Spring, Look at Me,” highlighting the significance of ordinary people and aiming to bring joy and laughter to millions of viewers.
The main logo features a magnificent blue dragon soaring through the sky, with its head held high and the dragon’s body circling and turning, resembling the infinite symbol “∞.” The use of cyan as the main color of the dragon’s body, along with the red beard and golden claws, symbolizes vitality, natural harmony, and the return of spring. The red lantern flying high on the dragon’s head adds a sense of happiness and peace, signifying the optimistic and determined spirit for the new year.
In addition, the main visual poster design showcases the theme of “Dragon Dance and Flowers,” combining hand-painted illustrations and 3D technology to depict a vibrant spring scene with dragons walking across the land and flowers blooming. The two dragons embracing each other represent the geographical pattern of Beijing, while the sea of colorful flowers at the dragon’s tail and dragon horns symbolizes the revival of all things and the prosperity of the capital in the new era.
The fusion of “dragon” and “flower” in the design holds profound historical and cultural significance. Drawing from the Yangshao culture’s symbol of the flower and the Hongshan culture’s symbol of the dragon, the gala’s visual theme resonates as a powerful cultural symbol of Chinese civilization.
The Beijing Radio and Television Station’s Year of the Dragon Spring Festival Gala is set to be broadcast on Beijing Satellite TV, Beijing Literature Channel, and Beijing time at 19:30 on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 10), with simultaneous streaming on Weibo, Douyin, Kuaishou, and various video platforms.
