ABORTED – Vault Of Horrors

ABORTED
Vault Of Horrors
(Death Metal | Grindcore)

Label: Nuclear Blast
Format: (LP)

Release: 15.03.2024

After a short melodic introduction, things really get down to business. The track “Dreadbringer” starts with breathtaking speed and brutal sound on ABORTED’s latest work “Vault Of Horrors”. The album continues no less hard with “Condemned To Rot”, which musically tears the flesh from your bones. Extremely brutal and fast Death Metal is unleashed here, as on the previous albums, with disastrous force.

The extreme metal song “Brotherhood Of Sleep” scores with squeaky guitars, deep growls and fast blast beats, which are surrounded by an infernal melody. Definitely one of the best tracks on the new album, which adds a few more nuances of aggression towards the end. But the songs “Death Cult” and “Hell Bound” are in no way inferior, although the latter brings out a lot, especially vocally.

“Insect Politics”, on the other hand, has a few death metal-like passages before things get dirtier again with “The Golgothan” and you can hear a musical trail of destruction running through the streets. The track “The Shape Of Hate” is a little quicker than the others and also a little slower in comparison, although slow is actually an exaggeration in ABORTED’s vocabulary, as none of the tracks can even remotely be described as slow.

In “Naturom Demonto” there are a few more beats to bang and mosh before the inferno breaks over you and there is a short musical break before the field of hate is plowed again. Finally, with “Malevolent Haze” there is another toxic cloud of haze that rises from the vault of horror and spreads like a roller before an end-time scenario is conjured up with gentle sounds.

The album “Vault Of Horrors” lives up to its name and fans can access it without hesitation. The consistently high level of brutality and technical skill make this work by ABORTED an absolute must-have. A quick look at the tracklist also shows that each song can be assigned to a specific horror film, which is thematically dealt with here. Here you can turn up the volume and enjoy the inferno.
