After the auction of film posters, a reminder of its past as a red light theater, the crowdfunding campaign “Adopt Cinema Teatro Maffei: a new space for culture that needs a visionary and off-the-track future!” .
The one-month initiative aims to raise funds to continue with the rebirth of the new Turin cultural reality, but also to make it become a shared project around which to create a community. “We would like those who join the crowdfunding campaign to feel part of the extended group of people who made Maffei’s development possible – explains the artistic manager, Alessandro Maioglio – because it belongs to the community”.
Those who decide to adopt the Maffei will be able, in some way, to have a piece of it in exchange, thanks to prizes such as shows, gadgets, dedicated armchairs, staircase tiles, posters. For the new space, inaugurated in these days with 26 hours of programming and over 30 artists, the real planning and expansion phase now begins. Among the planned works, also thanks to donations, are those to bring to light the old stage of the twentieth-century theater.
