AMIRI recently staged its Spring/Summer 2023 show in the lush Jardin des Plantes. The Spring/Summer 2023 collection represents the tough construction of the AMIRI world and a sublimation of strength. Playing the distance between elegance and comfort, the lightweight, flowing cotton suits are recreated with AMIRI’s usual design logic: a mix of thoughtful tailoring and West Coast casual everyday. Pleated wide-leg pants are reminiscent of baggy skate pants, and cropped tops reveal a strong 90s-inspired hem. The tracksuit silhouette is reborn in tie-dyed silk-satin at the drawstring hem, the distressed appliqués give time to the perforated rugby shirt, and the alligator patched shoulders on the shirt are reminiscent of rugby players’ shoulder pads. Vintage baseball jackets are cut and stitched for a playful and luxurious look.
In addition, footwear enriches the brand’s story with playful craftsmanship, and this season’s new “MA Two” shoe is a tribute to skateboarding. To add to the comfort of the skateboard, Mike Amiri features an exaggerated size, oversized rubber sole and perforated star detailing. The “MA Crossbodys” bags the models wore crossbody, and the leather and canvas belt bags with the new “MA” metal buckle design, were made for every day, every day.
