[Epoch Times, April 6, 2022](The Epoch Times reporter Zeng Weixin compiled and reported) The popular Korean boy group BIGBANG released a new song “Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter (Still Life/여름가을겨울)” yesterday (5th). The member TOP (Choi Seung-hyun), whose contract with YG Entertainment ended, wrote his thoughts on his personal official IG in the evening.

YG Entertainment announced in February this year that the contract with TOP has ended. TOP will start a personal project and challenge various things as an artist and an entrepreneur. YG Entertainment stated that the company respects TOP’s desire to expand his personal activities in addition to being a member of BIGBANG, and made this decision after consulting with the members, and he will participate in BIGBANG’s activities at any time when conditions are available.

After the release of BIGBANG’s new song “Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter”, TOP released an English article on his official IG on the evening of the 5th. He wrote, “The music is finally out. I wouldn’t be here today without the help of the staff at YG Entertainment. Thank you for your help over the past 16 years. It means a lot to me. I think I’m starting my life. Another important turning point.”

He also said: “I look forward to the near future, I can become a man who can inspire everyone. I am most grateful to my fans. Thank you again.”

“Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter” is the first new song released by BIGBANG in about four years since the single “FLOWER ROAD (꽃길/花路)” was released in March 2018. After its release, the song topped the iTunes song charts in 33 countries and regions, and topped the real-time charts of MelOn in Korea and LINE MUSIC in Japan. Not only that, but an hour after the song was released, the hashtag “#BIGBANG_STILLLIFE” also topped the Twitter world trending chart.
