Borsalino, the relaunch strategy continues: the first airport boutique opened at Linate

by admin

Borsalino continues on the relaunch path with the inauguration of the first boutique dedicated to travel retail, in Milan Linate. It is a space of 36 square meters overlooking the Piazza del Lusso of the airport, an area dedicated to the shops of luxury brands. This is therefore an important novelty for the historic hat brand from Alessandria, as part of the strategy initiated by the property of Haeres Equita, which took over the company in 2018 and entrusted its creative direction to Giacomo Santucci.

For Borsalino, the last few months have been very intense: in the edition of Pitti 100 in June, the new limited edition hat collection created in collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto was presented, in addition to those with Ami Paris and Acheval, and two five-year licensing agreements with historic Italian manufacturers. With Isa Spa, Borsalino will launch the first collection of accessories such as scarves, shawls, ties, clutches, twillys, hair-ties and hair-bands made of cotton and silk, natural textile fibers, while with Modigliani, a company from Carinaro (Caserta), the first line of bags and small leather goods will be born. Both new collections will go on sale with SS 2022.

On the retail front, last summer Borsalino opened three pop-ups in iconic destinations such as Mykonos, Saint Tropez and Monte Carlo. After maintaining employment levels in the hardest year of the pandemic, Borsalino aims to recover in the year the gap accumulated in 2020 and to reach the result of 2019, around 19 million euros, as explained by Mauro Baglietto, managing director of Borsalino, in this interview with Sole 24 Ore.
