Il Carroponte, the summer festival organized within the former Breda industrial area of Sesto San Giovanni, this year wants to start the summer as soon as possible: the opening of the rich program is in fact scheduled for May 4th, when the Americans OneRepublic will take the stage in Sesto.
The new edition of the review was unveiled this morning in the presence of the mayor of Sesto San Giovanni Roberto Di Stefano, the Councilor for Culture of Sesto San Giovanni Alessandra Magro and the organizers of Hub Music Factory Tiziana Seregni and Alessandro Fabbro. And it was Tiziana Seregni who wanted to underline the symbolic importance of the next edition, «that of the return to normality after the sacrifices made in 2021, when we managed to organize the festival with courage and passion, given the many limitations dictated by the pandemic. Starting from the capacity at the time reduced to 1500 people ».
Of course, the sector is still full of wounds: «The entire sector – continues Seregni – in recent months has lost 85% of turnover, helplessly witnessing the loss of workers and workers forced to seek employment in other areas. But now (with the comfort of the Reopening decree of last March 24, ed) you can leave again with greater peace of mind: the capacity of the Carroponte has returned to 7,000 people and the real prospect is that of being able to experience the concerts again without any limitations ».
The program confirms the will of the Carroponte to satisfy the most disparate musical tastes. After the pop of OneRepublic, the month of May will continue with the Punk in Drublic festival (May 22nd) and with the hardcore of Social Distortion; in June, Italian rap and hip-hop fans will be spoiled for choice, including Mecna (June 12), Lazza (June 16), Rocco Hunt (June 22), Psychologists (June 23) and Guè (June 24) June). In between the punk of Offspring (21 June) and as the final of the month the comedy of Andrea Pucci, engaged for three evenings from 28 to 30 June.
In July, the diversification of the proposal will be confirmed by the New York Ska Jazz Ensemble (July 2), by the thousand sounds of Gogol Bordello (July 10), by the indie songwriter by Carl Brave (July 21), by Manuel Agnelli in solo version (July 25 ). Without forgetting that at the end of April new announcements and new artists are expected to be added to the calendar, the current September formation is still very respectable: the new Bandabardò-Cisco association, historic voice of the Modena City Ramblers, is expected on the first day of the month with the new album “Non fa Scari” (out May 20); Hernia’s rap will be on stage on 6 and 7 September and then make room (8 September) for the last date of Carmen Consoli’s summer tour and the sounds of the latest, successful album “Volevo fare la rockstar”.
