Changying Old Site Museum Introduces Immersive NPC Tours

Changying Old Site Museum introduces immersive tour experience

For the first time, the Changying Site Museum has launched an innovative ā€œimmersive museumā€ tour experience, revolutionizing the traditional and static exhibition format. Visitors to the museum will now have the opportunity to interact with characters from popular movies, bringing the exhibits to life in a whole new way.

The interactive characters, known as NPCs (non-player characters), are a type of character commonly found in video games, but they will now be roaming the exhibition area of the museum to engage with visitors. These characters, brought to life by actors, will provide a ā€œzero-distance interactionā€ with tourists, creating an immersive experience that allows visitors to feel as if they have stepped into the world of the movies.

The performance clips are adapted from ā€œShangganlingā€ and ā€œGunshots of the Security Bureau,ā€ with plans to update and change the content from time to time. Last year, the museum introduced the immersive drama ā€œThe Lost Master Tapes,ā€ which was a hit among young people. This year, with the introduction of the ā€œChangying Old Site Museum,ā€ the museum aims to bring the immersive tour experience to Jilin Province for the first time, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to experience the magic of Changying movies.

Ye Zilong, general manager of Changchun Changying Former Site Museum Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., emphasized the importance of seizing the explosive period of cultural tourism and promoting film culture. The immersive tour experience is seen as a breakthrough attempt, adding a new layer of excitement to museum tours and bringing the charm of the movies and Changchun, Jilin to life for visitors.
