Diana Zurco, in her last program on Public TV: “It was a historic opportunity”

After the end of Cocineros Argentinos, another sad farewell came to the Public Television screen. The hosts Diana Zurco and Horacio Embón said goodbye to Noticiero central, after being dismissed.

In her last program, Diana gave thanks for everything she had accomplished: “Many thanks to the channel workers, from all areas, but above all to my colleagues from the news program for their delivery. They made me very happy. Surely we will meet again on the radio, on the graph or on another screen, why not? I want to thank you, above all, for the love, for the affection. I feel like we will always be in communication.”

Sadness. Juan Braceli could not contain his tears in the last Argentine Cooks program

From her place as the first trans woman journalist at the head of a news program, she said: “Many thanks to Public Television for opening its doors to me more than four years ago. It was a historic opportunity, because it gained visibility. And I close with this, because I don’t want to make it long… I always remember the messages from boys or girls who, from somewhere in the country, told me: ‘Diana, if you could do it, I can do it.’ And today there are many kids studying the career they chose. With effort, work and sacrifice, if I could do it, everyone can achieve it.”

“Thank you. “I didn’t want to be the first trans host of a newscast, but she touched me, so that tomorrow it would no longer be news, but something totally naturalized,” she concluded.
