Disney Releases Trailer for New “Star Wars” Series “Waiter” Starring Lee Jung-jae
Disney has unveiled the first trailer for the highly anticipated “Star Wars” series “Waiter” today, with Korean actor Lee Jung-jae taking on the role of the Jedi Master. The series follows the story of the Jedi Master and his former Jedi Padawan, set to premiere on Disney+ on June 4.
“Star Wars: The Acolyte” is set to take place 100 years before “Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace” in the era of the High Republic, where dark and mysterious forces are emerging in the galaxy. The plot unfolds as the Jedi Master encounters a dangerous warrior from his past, played by Amandla Stenberg, while investigating a series of crimes.
The trailer showcases Lee Jung-jae instructing a group of young children in the ways of the Jedi, with hints at a darker nature lurking within one of the girls. Amandla Stenberg’s character is portrayed as a fierce warrior determined to bring down the Jedi, leading to a thrilling confrontation in the series.
“Waiter” is created by Leslye Headland, known for producing hit series “Russian Doll”, and is a production of Lucasfilm. The series will consist of eight episodes, with a second season of “Andor” slated for early 2025. Additionally, a new season of “Ahsoka” and a 2026 movie titled “The Mandalorian and Grogu” are also in the works.
Fans can expect an action-packed and suspenseful adventure in “Star Wars: Waiter” as Lee Jung-jae and Amandla Stenberg navigate the treacherous challenges ahead. Stay tuned for the premiere on Disney+ this June.
