Easter is presented as one of the festivities that have their own gastronomy. Every year, chocolate-based products fill the shelves and they are highly required from those who make them in an artisanal way. The big star is the traditional Easter eggs that will be offered in Neuquén in 2024 with a price increase that It will reach 233%, as specified by the merchants.
The observatory of the chamber of merchants ACIPAN, for the sixth consecutive year, carried out a survey during the third week of March. The 2024 survey focused on the main products consumed during Easter. hEaster eggs and bagel, natural tuna and pink salmon, were the four chosen. Here, in addition to chocolate foods, two variants of fish were considered to represent consumer choice. that they will not consume beef, animal or poultry for religious reasons.
In total, the survey determined that in In Neuquén, the cost of the Easter Basket (four products) has increased by 236%, between 2023 and 2024.
In the food group surveyed, It is highlighted that those that had the greatest increase during the years were pink salmó with prices that exceeded 245% and tuna that costs 321% than last year.
For their part, the required eggs Pascua and the Easter cake had the lowest variation, although they surprised consumers with 233% and 175%, respectively.
ACIPAN also determined that the increase in the Easter Basket is below the variation in the Price Index. Consumer Prices of the last 12 months surveyed by INDEC (276%) or the increase in the Food and Beverages category increased by 303%.
