Electric recharge in 43 minutes, the latest Mustang Mach-E record

by admin

ROME – Still records for the Mustang Mach-E. Ford’s first all-electric SUV has just won two new Guinness World Records titles, which add to the ultra-efficiency record achieved last July. In that case the Mustang Mach-E had traveled at 6.5 miles per kilowatt hour (kWh), equivalent to well over 500 miles of range, compared to the official 379 miles per single charge reported by the house. Now Guinness World Records has confirmed 43 minutes and 13 seconds as the shortest recharge time recorded on Britain’s longest trip (between John O’Groats and Land’s End), lowering it by more than 30 minutes from the previous attempt.

Fast charging of the record-setting “extended range” rear-wheel drive Mustang Mach-E at 150 kW adds about 73 miles of range every 10 minutes on charge. Thus, the team driving the electric SUV (Paul Clifton, Fergal McGrath, Kevin Booker and Adam Wood), only stopped in Wigan, in the north west of England, for a single charging session, setting the record for the lowest number. of charging stops that is bound to remain firmly in the “hands” of the Mustang Mach-E, unless another vehicle in the future travels 840 miles without the need to recharge en route.

“As deliveries increase, customers can rest assured in daily use of the Mustang Mach-E, as evidenced by this record triple performance, even on the UK’s most extreme journey,” said Tim Nicklin, Electrification Manager of Ford – Ford’s Go Electric report on consumer perception of electric vehicles reveals that the average range that the public thinks a fully charged electric car can travel is less than 150 miles. If the Mustang Mach-E can reach well over three times that distance in the hands of professionals, it can easily provide owners with absolute peace of mind and an end to the autonomy anxiety experienced to date ”.

This weekend, the record-breaking Mustang Mach-E will be present at the “Fully Charged Live”, and will participate in the “Go Electric roadshow”, an initiative organized to answer users’ doubts about electric cars. With the vehicles on display at the roadshow, Ford also intends to reaffirm its commitment to producing all-electric and plug-in hybrid versions of its range of cars and vans, which will culminate in Europe in 2030 with the sale of electric vehicles only.
