More courage to innovate, to break the mold, to aim for sustainable development: this is the legacy of the pandemic according to Francesca Lusini (pictured above), president of Peuterey, the premium-end clothing brand which belongs to his family, 62.6 million in consolidated turnover in the annual financial statements closed on 31 March 2019, with a gross operating margin of 4.7 million, results confirmed in the accounts closed in March 2020. Exports weigh 30% .

What changes have you introduced in stores and workplaces?
During the first lockdown we were one of the first companies in the sector a reconvert part of the business to the production of protective masks and suits, and we were just as quick to introduce the changes necessary for the safety and health of employees, customers and suppliers in the company and in our stores: daily sanitation of spaces common areas, use of protection devices, measurement of the temperature at the entrance, use of plexiglass.

What news will remain beyond the pandemic?
The scars that 2020 left us have made us stronger, able to release creative energy and ingenuity: today, more than ever, we are convinced and we have the courage to take new paths, innovate, break the mold and develop projects for sustainable development and a better future.

Have you noticed any changes in customer expectations and wishes?
Our customers have always been looking for quality garments destined to last over time. In this last year we find increased demand for comfortable and transeasonal garments that adapt to changed habits, to work-home-relaxation situations that no longer have clear boundaries. But we also perceive a great desire for color, lightness, escape, as a reaction and compensation to the dramatic moment that we are all experiencing.

Have you reduced the post-pandemic collections compared to those of spring-summer 2020?
We have optimized the main collections, but at the same time we have worked on special projects, in line with our growing commitment to sustainable development: this is how Peuterey Recycle, a line of limited edition duvets made with archival fabrics according to the principles of circular economy ; and the new Peuterey Plurals, an eco-friendly capsule of puffers and overalls printed with the images of buildings and open windows, which tell the sense of union we have developed, despite the physical distance. We are also about to launch a genderless outerwear project, an expression of the themes dear to us: sustainability, function, quality, design, and personality.
