There Scala this year organizes its concerts for children in the cycle of five afternoons entitled “The amazing adventures of Lalla and Skali”. The events of two magical characters who have lived in Piermarini since time immemorial (the interpreters are Matteo Sala and Mirjam Schiavello) give the starting point for listening to music, games, reflections. The texts are by Mario Acampa, the children’s choir of the Accademia della Scala, directed by Bruno Casoni, participates. I Little Cantori of Milan, 40 children from five to 12 years, will instead be Thursday 23 from 17 to 18 in Piazza Tre Torri, a CityLife, for an interlude of Christmas music and peace. The choir, founded by Nilly Comolli in 1964, is a non-profit reality that is a consolidated part of the city’s tradition.
Also Thursday 23 la Library of Trees, a project of the Riccardo Catella Foundation, closes its 2021 cultural schedule with the Christmas Concert by The Gospel Brothers & The Voice of Worship. From 7 pm to 8.30 pm the sextet will perform for the first time in Italy, in Piazza Gae Aulenti. The concert, free and open to all, will feature two of the brightest voices of the modern gospel scene: Mr. Raymond Thompson (from Dallas) and Mr. Marlin Monroe Williford (from Detroit), flanked by Monica Lewis, Brenda Turner, John Alexander and Journey Sings. On the program a classic repertoire revisited with pop, soul tones and contemporary gospel songs. Still in the gospel field, the appointment at the Blue Note (via Borsieri 37, 8.30 pm and 10.30 pm, tickets running out at 30/35 euros) With the’Harlem Gospel Choir, which after a year of absence due to a pandemic will take the stage of the jazz club on the island for a consecutive week, from 26 to 1 January inclusive. The repertoire is traditional, but never boring, thanks also to the authentic gospel spirit capable of instilling joy and serenity. The choir, renamed “Angles in Harlem” by U2, continues to be successful in every corner of the planet, bringing a greater understanding of African American culture and inspired music called gospel as played in the Black Church.
