Gwen Stefani had to explain to her youngest son what Coachella was, now that No Doubt was there

It has been nine years since the band No Doubt last performed on stage together. In April, Gwen Stefani (54) and co. a reunion at Coachella. “It’s going to be so cool,” the singer said in an interview with ‘People’.

First she will be seen solo before the game in the famous Super Bowl. No Doubt will perform at Coachella in April. Their first performance since 2015. According to Stefani, a reunion was an easy “yes”. “It happened so quickly, and that’s my favorite kind of event. We haven’t really figured out what the next steps are to do this yet. But we’re looking forward to it so much. And see the internet explode with enthusiasm from the fans? That is really inspiring.”

Push en shove was the last album, in 2012. Since 2015, each band member has focused on his or her own solo career. In addition to Stefani, there were guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young. But their story started much earlier, in 1992 with their self-titled debut. Their big breakthrough came with Tragic Kingdom (1995). It included super hits Don’t speak and Just a girl.

Explain to son

Stefani is already looking forward to the return. “It’s going to be cool. We’re going to show up, do what we always do: play our music, connect and be grateful that we have this amazing career that we never thought we would have. You should know, we were No Doubt, nine before Just a Girl hit the radio. We didn’t do it to make it. Now it’s 2024, and we have that excitement from that announcement? The singer is now married to country singer Blake Shelton, but also has three sons with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. When the news of the Coachella concert came, she had to explain what it was to her youngest ten-year-old son. “Apollo asked, ‘Mom, what is Coachella? Everyone is talking about it? It sounds like a big deal’. So we watched the clip of Don’t speak together. Then he asked which of the men was my boyfriend. It was so crazy and funny. I literally had to tell him who they were,” she says with a laugh.
