Heatherwick creates massive tree-covered sculpture for the Queen’s ‘Platinum Jubilee’ – Hardware – cnBeta.COM

According to New Atlas,High-profile British firm Heatherwick Studio has created a large-scale tree-covered sculpture for the Queen’s 70th anniversary celebration of the “Platinum Jubilee”.This art installation consists of 350 small trees arranged in the shape of a large tree.

‘Tree of Trees’ is part of a larger not-for-profit tree planting programme called ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy’ responsible for planting more than 1 million new trees across the UK between October 2021 and March 2022 Tree. Construction on the sculpture has been ongoing since April to ensure it is ready for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration, which officially takes place between June 2 and 5. After the party, the entire sculpture will be dismantled and the trees will be stored and donated to selected community groups, individuals and organizations for planting from October onwards.
