Prince Harry will soon be declared a ‘living legend’ of aviation, joining Buzz Aldrin and Elon Musk on the prestigious list. The awards ceremony in Beverly Hills will be hosted by actor John Travolta.

The Duke of Sussex (39) will be included in the list of Living Legends of Aviation, an award that – as the name suggests – recognizes legends of aviation. An award so prestigious that even Charles Duke, who in 1972 became the youngest person to ever run, has not yet received it. The fact that Harry does get it causes many to raise their eyebrows.
“I look forward to seeing every other military pilot in the world receive this award,” someone responded to X. “Is this a joke? What are the legendary things he has done? I’m asking seriously. What the hell did he do?” Others are more positive and congratulated “the soldier who completed two missions in Afghanistan”.
“Prince Harry is a humanitarian, military veteran, mental wellness advocate and environmentalist. He has dedicated his life to advancing causes he is passionate about and that create lasting change for people and places,” the event website said.
Next to Bezos and Aldrin
The award was established in 2003 to honor people who have made significant contributions to aviation and space travel. People who are still alive replace those who have died. Neil Armstrong was also replaced after his death in 2012. Harry will now join legends such as Aldrin, Morgen Freeman, Saudi Prince Sultan, Salman Al Saud, Jeff Bezos, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford and Elon Musk.
Other aerospace icons to be inaugurated alongside the prince this year include US Navy pilot Fred George and former world speed record holder Steve Hinton.
Early last year, Harry said his military career had ‘saved’ him after the tragic death of his mother. The Duke served in the army for a total of ten years and rose to the rank of captain.
