Furthermore, he stressed that his experience in the administration of Justice is “accompanied by a solid academic training and teaching activity in the university environment.”

This way, The ILF joins the endorsements received by the Ministry of Justice to comply with the proposal of the national Executive Branch in the appointment of Lijo to one of the vacant positions in the Supreme Court.

During the last week, the current federal judge received the support of prosecutors and judges of all country. Among those who expressed their support are Maria Servinihead of the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1, Maria Eugenia Capuchettihead of the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 5 and Zunilda Nirempergerhead of the Federal Resistance Court No. 1.

Maia Volcovinsky, Mario Alarcón, Julio Piumato, Dew Herrera, Mara Fernandez, Hugo Leguizamon and Ariel Pringles, among other members of the judicial union, sent their letters of adhesion.

Piumato highlighted his “courage and commitment to the defense of human rights,” and assured that “if appointed, he will honor the position with tireless dedication.

Voices against

However, The candidate also added rejections and critical voices to his application. The Forum for Studies on the Administration of Justice (FORES), for example, requested that the Government withdraw the designation.

In the same way, business and commerce chambers and the Network of Entities for Independent Justice of Argentina (Rejia) questioned the candidacy of the magistrate and they suggested that female jurists be nominated. The National Academy of Law and Social Sciences of Buenos Aires and the Bar Association of the City of Buenos Aires also joined.
