Kia, the electric way to support green tourism in Italy

The electric route is not just a path already undertaken by Kia towards electrification, but also a concrete commitment. The Korean company has created charging stations, positioned in the most evocative places in Italy such as resorts, hotels and restaurants, to connect as many locations as possible in a real network for charging electric and plug-in vehicles.

“The electric route is a joint project with a great symbolic value – he explains Giuseppe Bitti, CEO of Kia Italy -. Our company on a global level is evolving from a traditional car manufacturer to a provider of electric mobility services, as well as great attention is paid to issues of sustainability and decarbonisation of industrial processes. The inauguration we are celebrating today turns our gaze in this direction, combining elements that contribute to the repositioning of our brand within the national automotive scene “.

To date, there are four charging stations already present in our area: Rapallo (Genova), San Vincenzo (Livorno), Elba island e Sirolo (Ancona). To these will be added, in a short time, Castel Volturno (Caserta), Taranto, Roccella Ionica (Reggio Calabria) and Agrigento.

The electric way (project born in collaboration with Mennekes) is part of a global vision that sees Kia in a position of growth in the positioning of the electric and electrified vehicle market. In fact, by the end of 2025, the Korean company plans to offer a complete range of 11 electric models. Globally, the goal is to achieve a 6.6% share of the global electricity market (excluding China), as well as a 25% share of the sales of the eco-friendly model range.

As part of a global expansion of the electric vehicle market expected by 2026, Kia aims to achieve sales of 500,000 electric vehicles per year and one million eco-friendly models (excluding China). And from the point of view of “eco-friendly” news, 2022 will be the year of the complete renewal of the range Niro and the arrival of the version GT from EV6neo eletta “car of the year”.
