More than 375,000 students of the initial and primary levels of public and private schools The 2024 school year will begin this Monday in the City of Buenos Aires, while high school students will do so on Monday, March 4. “Classes should start without problems. In the City we closed a joint agreement, which also includes the money that came from the National Teacher Incentive Fund, which the national government is not providing and we cover,” remarked the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Jorge Macri. He then clarified: “Since the strike is outside the law, because there is already a joint agreement, we are going to deduct the working day for those who join the strike. and with that we build a fund that is later distributed to teachers who do not adhere to the strike.”
For her part, the Buenos Aires Minister of Education, Mercedes Miguel, indicated: “City schools are open today for the more than 375 thousand boys and girls at the initial and primary level who are starting a new school year. It is a day of great happiness for teachers, students and families, who are reunited at school.” Likewise, the City reported that some 22,000 first-year students at the state management secondary level began classes on February 19 the articulation path from Primary to Secondary.
