Classic masterpieces and poems by Alda Merini in meditation in music for the opening of the Christmas Novena. It is proposed tomorrow, Thursday 16, at 6 pm in the Bicocca church by the Italian Catholic Doctors Association, Novara section: organist Christian Tarabbia, of the “Sonata Organi” association, will play, while professor Katia Montebuglio, already reciting voice in numerous initiatives such as «Passio», he will read pages by Merini. The initiative is free to enter. «The afternoon will be a combination of music and words – says Tarabbia – in a very simple journey on Advent and Christmas but also on the life of man. The common thread is the choral. That of Luther’s Protestantism which in turn takes up Christian traditions. In short, ecumenism ». The meditation will be accompanied by pages by Bach, Pachelbel, Dallier, Brahms, Scheidemann, performed by Tarabbia on the Mentasti organ, placed in a wooden choir loft above the main entrance portal and built in 1877.
The organ has 61 concave straight pedal keys with 26 pedals. It was recently restored and played by Tarabbia at the inauguration. The musician, born in 1981, studied organ and organ composition, graduating from the Cantelli Conservatory in Novara. Since 2002 he has been the titular organist of the Dell’Orto and Lanzini organ in the Collegiate Church of Arona. In 2005 he founded, together with other enthusiasts, the “Sonata Organi” association, of which he is president, as well as being the artistic director of the international organ festival that takes place annually in Arona and of the review aimed at enhancing the historical organs “Organ itineraries on the territory of the province of Novara “. He has held concerts in national and international organ festivals and his performances have been broadcast by Rai3 Piemonte, Italian local radios, by the Spanish national television Tve, by the Polish national radio-television and by the Melbourne classical music broadcaster 3MBS within the Organ and Choral Music program.
