British actor Pierce Brosnan (70) took an illegal walk in Yellowstone National Park at the end of 2023. He has now been convicted of that after pleading guilty. He must pay a fine of 1,500 euros.

Brosnan was on a personal trip to the famous American park in November 2023, but did not completely follow the rules. Hikers must strictly adhere to the marked paths and may not simply deviate from the path. You are also not allowed to enter the famous mineral-covered Mammoth Terraces hot springs. It’s even dangerous. Every year many people are burned because they do not follow the rules.
The James Bond actor also flouted those rules. The actor pleaded not guilty in January, but denying it was difficult. Someone had taken a photo of Brosnan in the hot springs. He later decided to plead guilty.

The actor was therefore fined $500 and also had to make a donation of $1,000 to the park. A second lesser charge was dismissed.
“As an environmentalist, I have the utmost respect and love for our natural world. However, I made an impulsive mistake—one I don’t take lightly—when I entered a snow-covered thermal area in Yellowstone National Park to take a photo. I didn’t see any ‘no trespassing’ signs warning of danger and I didn’t walk in the immediate area. I deeply regret my offense and sincerely apologize to everyone for trespassing on this sensitive area. Yellowstone and all our national parks must be cared for and preserved for all to enjoy,” Brosnan wrote on Instagram. He added the hashtag ‘#Stay on the path’.
