The Saint Laurent Rive Droite creative concept store, which opened in 2019, is designer Anthony Vaccarello’s tribute to the Saint Laurent Rive Gauche in the 1960s, aiming to faithfully present the diverse appearance of the current lifestyles based on the brand’s background. This time, creative director Anthony Vaccarello once again found a partner with the same profound background for Saint Laurent Rive Droite, namely HERVET MANUFACTURIER from a family of carpenters in Normandy, France. The brand was founded in 2016 by cousins Cedric Hervet, former creative director of DAFT PUNK, and Nicolas Hervet, who has won numerous awards in the woodworking field.
Due to the dual influence of retro taste and futurism, HERVET MANUFACTURIER will use a lot of beautiful and durable materials such as exotic wood, full-grain leather and metal while respecting the traditional craftsmanship of carpenters. The Saint Laurent Rive Droite collaboration is no exception. This exclusive collection includes a range of exotic wooden surf longboards, as well as coffee tables in two sizes – and the most amazing thing about it. Inspired by the former, this coffee table is made of birch plywood with an oak base; decorated with a special zebra print and identified with Saint Laurent’s signature capital lettering or cursive design. The collaboration is only available exclusively at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles, and interested readers may visit the brand’s official website to learn more.
