Now, according to foreign media gamerant reports,Saudi simply asked Disney to revise the content ahead of Doctor Strange 2’s release to remove a 12-second scene because it mentioned LGBTQ+ characters.

Nawaf Alsabhan, director general of Saudi film classification, told AFP that Doctor Strange 2 was not banned in the country and that “there is no reason to ban the film, it just needs to be a simple change”, referring to Miss America (lesbian character), played by Xochitl Gomez, talks about the scene of her two mothers, which is LGBTQ+ not allowed due to cultural restrictions in the Middle East, so Disney asked Disney to remove the 12-second scene.
Disney refused to make any changes to Doctor Strange 2, saying it wanted to maintain its integrity globally. The film was originally scheduled to be released in Saudi Arabia on May 5, but could not be released in theaters if Disney could not meet the country’s requirements.
Doctor Strange 2 will be released in North America on May 6, 2022.
