British designer Mowalola returned to Fashion Week for the first time in three years. In the past, he turned his attention to his art career. He not only held exhibitions at NOW Gallery, but also joined the YEEZY GAP team. This time, he returned with the same name brand, which was officially released during Paris Fashion Week. The 2023 spring and summer series “Burglarwear”, in addition to a series of bold clothing, the cooperation project with New Balance has attracted much attention.
This time, the two are based on the New Balance 9060 model, which borrows elements from the 990 and 860 series of running shoes, and reinterpreted it in the Y2K style, bringing two colors of “black/purple/yellow” and “black/green/pink”. A touch of neon is added to the calm tones, subtly combined with the brand’s rebellious spirit. Leather and mesh fabrics are used to create the upper, and finally a characteristic curved outsole completes the shoe; in addition, the special lace details are also worth noting.
The Mowalola x New Balance 9060 colorway is expected to be available this fall through New Balance and select retailers, so interested readers should keep an eye out.
