The love story between Jack and his favorite toy: Mimalino, a stuffed pig that has always accompanied him. But on Christmas Eve the chubby friend is gone. This is the new story by JK Rowling: The Christmas Pig, from the same pen that wrote the best-selling saga Harry Potter. On the shelves of bookstores around the world from 12 October, translated into twenty languages. In Italy the publication is edited by Salani.

It is the writer’s first novel dedicated to readers aged eight and up. It’s Christmas Eve and everything can come to life, even toys. The little protagonist leaves to save Mimalino. A new puppet accompanies him in the enterprise: the Christmas Pig, annoying and immaculate substitute just out of the shop window. Together they travel to the Land of the Lost in search of Jack’s best friend. They will have to save him from the Underdog: a monster made of debris that engulfs everything. A talking lunch box, a brave compass and a winged being named Hope help them.
This is the first book completely disconnected from the fictional universe of Harry Potter, the most famous wizard on the planet. Prior to this work, Rowling published Ickabog, a serialized fairy tale destined first to the network and then to the paper, to entertain children during the lockdown. Proceeds from the work went to charity to those most affected by the pandemic.

According to the publisher Salani, JK Rowling has invented «one of the most beautiful Christmas stories ever written, recounting the childhood in the face of the mystery of loss. Compassion to loved people and objects that absorb human feelings is a celebration of family warmth, caring and feeling understood. A story destined to become a classic ».
