The first-ever “NTD Global Chinese Beauty Contest” has officially entered its third phase, marking the beginning of a new era that embraces the innocence, kindness, and pure beauty that Chinese women should exemplify. The competition, organized by NTDTV, aims to provide a platform that showcases the elegance and restraint of traditional Chinese women, while promoting traditional Chinese culture.
Lucy Zhou, the general manager of the competition, introduced the event, stating, “After global auditions and strict online interview evaluations, we have finally selected 40 outstanding Chinese beauties from four continents around the world. These women have demonstrated their deep understanding of traditional Chinese values and exemplify elegance.”
The 40 contestants hail from the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia, representing a diverse range of industries and lifestyles. From artists and dancers to doctors and engineers, these women have shown their talents in various fields, including piano performance and designing. Additionally, among them are highly popular YouTubers.
These contestants have been carefully selected, undergoing a rigorous evaluation process that included reviewing their resumes and evening dress videos, assessing their “Beauty Mission” videos, and conducting online interviews. Only after passing through these stages were they able to participate in the live competition in New York, with each process contributing to the final scoring points.
Richard Yin, the deputy general manager of the competition, emphasized that the selected women will serve as ambassadors for “MissNTD” beauty, undertaking the mission of spreading traditional values to the world. Yin highlighted the important role women play in society and the family, stating, “We believe that if women can find the right role in a variety of different situations, society will be better and more stable.”
The uniqueness of the “NTD Global Beauty Pageant” lies in its aim to restore the traditional beauty of women. Richard Yin explained that true female beauty is not merely superficial, but rather emanates from within. The contest seeks to exemplify the five important qualities symbolized by the “Miss NTD” phoenix crown: virtue, righteousness, propriety, benevolence, and trustworthiness.
To achieve this goal, the competition will organize training sessions for the contestants, focusing on teaching traditional Chinese culture through various poems and books. The participants will also receive grooming, body, makeup, and public speaking training to enhance their overall presentation. The fusion of traditional Chinese culture with the beauty pageant creates a unique showcase of elegance and cultural values.
The finals of the contest will take place at SUNY Purchase College in New York from September 24th to September 30th. The competition will award a total of 15 prizes, including “Miss NTD,” runner-up, third runner-up, best photogenic, and director award. It will also recognize excellence in categories such as the “Beauty Mission” video, evening dress, leotard, dance, instrument performance, and creativity.
A significant highlight of the finals will be the launch of seven evening dresses with traditional Chinese characteristics, sponsored by “Shen Yun Dancers,” making their debut on the pageant stage. These dresses aim to showcase the traditional beauty of Chinese women and will be presented by specially selected contestants.
The first “NTDTV Global Chinese Beauty Contest” is part of a series of international cultural and artistic activities hosted by NTDTV. It seeks to promote traditional Chinese culture and revive women’s aesthetic values of innocence, kindness, and beauty.
