The Gucci family issued an official statement condemning the movie “Gucci: Murder of the Giants” | HYPEBEAST

The biographical film “Gucci: Murder of the Giants” was recently released in various countries. The Gucci family, who had been protesting as early as the film planning, shooting, and post-production period, unsurprisingly, criticized as expected after the film was released. A few days ago, the Gucci family issued an official statement stating that the movie directed by Ridley Scott maliciously vilified the family owner, portraying it as an image of arrogance, selfishness, brainlessness, and madness.

According to the “Variety” report, the statement issued by the heir to Aldo Gucci mentioned that the family was “disturbed” by the presentation in the film, and then said: This film takes the stories of the predecessors, good or bad, “attributes to those who follow People who have never experienced the incident.” He also said that the experience was “extremely painful from a human point of view,” defeating the brand’s status so far. The Gucci family is also dissatisfied that Patrizia Reggiani played by Lady Gaga is portrayed as “a victim trying to survive in a male chauvinistic company” in the film, emphasizing that the Gucci company team has always been widely accepted. The family also alleged that during the filming of the film, the production team never actively contacted or negotiated with the heirs. At the end of the statement, it stated that “Gucci is a family that respects the ancestors and their achievements. Disturbed by fair farce, we have the right to take action to protect the name, image and dignity of ourselves and our loved ones.”

“Gucci is a family that lives honoring the work of its ancestors, whose memory does not deserve to be disturbed to stage a spectacle that is untrue and which does not do justice to its protagonists…

…The members of the Gucci family reserve the right to take action to protect the name, image and dignity of themselves and their loved ones.”

In addition to the opinions expressed by the Gucci family on the content of the film, former Gucci creative director Tom Ford also posted a film review on Air Mail with his personal impression of working with the protagonist prototype. Interested readers may wish to check it out.
