After his participation in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Iñaki Basiloff will return for more this year in Paris 2024, with the dream of the medal and the satisfaction of continuing in top-level competition.
The Neuquino, who represents the Club Cipolletti and River Plate, talked with «Immediately on the podium» (Monday to Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. RN Radio) and shared his feelings after the confirmation and how his preparation continues.
«It was in the plans to qualify, we just had to wait for confirmation. “I’m calm and focused on training, there’s still a long way to go,” he said.
«The Argentine National Team has 11 places and the order of priority is marked by the passage of the tournaments. I had to wait for the last places to be defined and “Let the list become official”detailed about the call.
Basiloff was very close to the medal in Tokyo and aims to achieve that achievement in Paris. “They are unique and unmatched tournaments. In Tokyo it went very well, I value it as a positive experience. The idea is to be able to reach the podium in Paris. I mainly aim at the 400 and 200 meters combined »he pointed.
«Between Tokyo and this year I evolved and improved a lot. I feel like we’re doing a little better now than last time.”he added.
Regarding his participation in the Last year’s Parapan American Games in Chile, where he obtained a silver medal and another bronze, he analyzed: «It was a good tournament at the medal level but As for my personal time, I was looking for something more«.
Before traveling to Paris, Iñaki will compete in Berlin next month for the Word League. Meanwhile he trains four hours a day between gym and pool. «It is an intense rhythm. You get used to it but sometimes it is also exhausting,” he highlighted. The Paralympic Games in the French capital will be held from August 28 to September 8.
