“The Little Mermaid” is adapted from the classic Disney animation of the same name. It tells a young mermaid who makes a deal with a sea witch and exchanges his voice for his legs to discover the human world. Bailey plays the Little Mermaid Ariel, Jonah Hall-King as Prince Eric, Javier Baden as Ariel’s father King Triton, Melissa McCarthy as the villain Ursula, Jacob Tremblay plays Ariel’s friend Flounder and Seagull Scuttle, and David Diggs plays Sebastian the Red Crab.
The film is directed by Rob Marshall, Jane Goodman is the screenwriter, and Lin-Manuel Miranda and Disney’s legendary composer Alan Manken will write new songs.
