The 75th Cannes Film Festival opened on May 18, local time. The poster of “Resolve to Break Up”, which was shortlisted in the main competition unit, was on the cover of the first day of the Cannes magazine “The Screen”. In this character poster, Tang Wei uses the sea as the background to play the heroine whose husband died suddenly but is very calm, with a melancholy and firm look.

“Resolve to Break Up” is Tang Wei’s first appearance in a Korean movie after 11 years since “Late Autumn”. The film tells the story of criminal policeman Hae Joon (played by Park Hae Il) who meets Xu Lai (played by Tang Wei), the wife of the deceased while investigating a death case, and gradually develops complex emotions amid suspicion.

Director Park Zanyu said in an interview: “I have always wanted to work with Tang Wei. This time, Tang Wei made Xu Lai’s role very convincing through his acting skills.”

“Resolve to Break Up” will have its world premiere in Cannes at 18:00 local time on May 23. At that time, Tang Wei will also walk on the red carpet and enter the Lumiere Cinema Hall to watch the movie with the audience.
