Unión Eléctrica is one of the historic basketball clubs in Córdoba. Based in Villa Revol, it has one of the best stadiums in the city and great figures who defended that entity’s shirt played there and even Argentine teams used it to train.
It is also the birthplace of many players who began their development in this sport there and had several litters that filled their fans with joy.
2019 was an unforgettable season for the U15, which was crowned undefeated champion of the Cordoba Basketball Association tournament, undefeated champion of the Provincial Club tournament and runner-up of the Argentine Club tournament.
The coach of that team was Juan Martín Rella. “Pipi” worked for Unión Eléctrica for many years, but due to disagreements with management he left the club and today he is in legal conflict with the electrical entity.
In the midst of this situation, a video circulated on social networks and various WhatsApp groups in which an employee is seen covering Rella’s face with white paint, and also her name and surname, in a billboard that is in the club in honor to that team.
After the video went viral, club authorities had the paint removed and the mural left as it should.
