TikTok began testing AI Song, a new option that aims to allow users to generate new songs using Artificial Intelligence (AI) directly from the platform, simply by writing the desired theme for the composition of the lyrics and the type of melody .

The social network owned by ByteDance continues to implement functions related to AI in order to improve the user experience, such as labels that help highlight the content that was created with this technology on the platform.

Now, the video platform began testing a new function focused on the creation of new content. This is AI Song, an option that allows you to generate new songs using AI to include them in content directly from the app. To do this, users will only have to describe the theme of the song, in addition to choosing the type of music for the melody.

This was reported by some users of the social network, who had access to this new feature.

What is AI Song and how to use it

The new feature can be found as the first option available in the song menu that appears after pressing the ‘Add Sound’ icon when creating new content.

Once in the AI ​​Song option, all you have to do is describe the desired theme, for example, going to dance classes or concerts, for the app to start generating different versions of a song. You can also select one of the theme proposals offered by the feature in question.

Thus, after a few seconds, the platform will show the lyrics generated for the song and the user will be able to choose between different styles for the music, such as Pop, EDM or Hiphop. Once the song is generated, it will also be displayed in the list of songs for publication and can be implemented in the video like any other theme or sound.

Likewise, as detailed by TikTok in the information it offers in the ‘app’ related to said function, it is a feature that uses AI to create songs based on instructions entered by users. To do this, it is powered by the Bloom Large Language Model (LLM), which uses machine learning to generate song lyrics.

However, it is also specified that this function may contain errors and it is warned that the lyrics used to generate a song can also be included in other songs generated by other users using AI Song.

For this reason, the platform advised users not to include personal information when generating songs with this feature.

In addition, TikTok also pointed out that, when using the LLM Bloom, users will not be able to generate songs with content related to the exploitation of minors, with false or personal information of other users or with discriminatory behavior towards other people, based on their age, their physique or their social category.

Likewise, videos with these AI-generated songs cannot be published without indicating it through a corresponding tag.

At the moment, AI Song is a testing feature and is therefore only available to some TikTok users. Users also acknowledged that the feature currently has some tuning and lyric errors.
