“China Online Audiovisual Annual Ceremony” Showcases Excellence in Traditional and Modern Culture
The “Together for the Future – 2024 China Online Audiovisual Annual Ceremony” will mark its arrival with a star-studded broadcast on all major online audiovisual platforms on the evening of February 3. This grand event, guided by the State Administration of Radio and Television and hosted by the China Online Audiovisual Program Service Association and the China Television Arts Committee, will have the theme of “Together for the Future” and will review the best online audiovisual works of the past year in a concise and visually stunning manner.
The ceremony will feature a plethora of performances that embody the rich culture of China, bridging the gap between traditionalism and modernity. “Mountains and Rivers,” a Chinese-style singing and dancing stage, will incorporate adaptations from traditional Chinese operas, showcasing the beauty of the country’s landscape with both strength and softness, while promoting national pride. Additionally, the “Blue and White Porcelain” segment will showcase a model team wearing minority intangible cultural heritage costumes, depicting the rural revitalization picture of the young people who are striving to build their hometowns.
The event will also pay tribute to the country’s unsung heroes, with a time-travel melodrama titled “Time and Space Reunion” using VR technology to tell the fantasy story of a heroic border guard who traveled to the future and reunited with his family. Furthermore, the grand chorus “Running to Tomorrow” will highlight the positive and youthful outlook of young people in the new era, using singing to celebrate the achievements of national construction and development.
In an effort to soothe the hearts of ordinary people, the ceremony will also present musical melodramas like “Happy Friends,” which focuses on the simplest happiness in ordinary life, and the golden symphony chorus “The Endless Sound,” which connects different stages of growth through music and aims to resonate with the emotional window of both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
