Unauthorized YZY GAP Pop-Up Store in LA Shut Down for Alleged Stolen Merchandise

An unauthorized YZY GAP pop-up store in Los Angeles was forced to close this week after allegations of selling stolen merchandise. The store, operated by Urban Necessities and SRGN Studios, had been promoted on Instagram with each item priced at $20, including over 60,000 unreleased YZY GAP items.

A video circulating on the internet showed Dov Charney, current Yeezy CEO and American Apparel founder, appearing in the pop-up store and shouting, “These products were stolen from Ye” before being escorted away by police.

In response to the allegations, Urban Necessities and SRGN Studios issued a statement on Instagram saying, “We work with brands, partners, and customers around the world. The sources of our products are rigorously scrutinized, and the YZY Gap series is no exception. The Los Angeles Police Department has investigated the fraud claims and absolved us of any accusations of wrongdoing.”

It remains unclear how the pop-up store came into possession of the stolen products, and interested readers are advised to follow subsequent reports for updates on the situation.
