It is undoubtedly one of the great collateral events of the 2022 edition of the Valsusa Filmfest, which as regards the films in competition is preparing to return in attendance after the pandemic between March and April, while the appointments with the guests of the 26th edition will take place. away already this weekend. This morning the organizers of the polyartistic kermesse announced that on Saturday 26 March, in the afternoon at the Palazzo delle Festa in Bardonecchia, in the evening at the Magnetto cine-theater in Almese, the mountaineer Reinhold Messner will be a guest of the Valsusina review for a double signature of his latest book “We, mountain people”.
The projections
On the sidelines of the meetings with the author, two moments of sure appeal for mountain lovers will be staged: in Bardonecchia the projection of the docufilm “Brothers you become. Homage to Walter Bonatti, the man of Mont Blanc”, which he will compare Messner with another of the protagonists of Italian mountaineering, who passed away in 2011, who before the Trentino climber tried his hand at the most challenging peaks on Earth. The film is accompanied by the talks between the two mountain men. In the evening, in Almese, it will be the moment of the story of the intense relationship between Messner and Nanga Parbat, during the conference-story of the mountaineer who has written legendary pages in the history of man at high altitude.
The collateral events of the 2022 Filmfest will start this weekend with Michele Riondino, the first guest of the newly created ValsusaLiberFest initiative, traveling to libraries and cultural sites in the Val di Susa in the coming months.

On Sunday 20 February Riondino will present his book on Ilva in Taranto at the Municipal Social Center of Villar Dora. This will be followed on 25th at Casa Aschieri, Bussoleno, by the presentation of “Hello, she is fired. Stories of workers in the industrial crisis” by trade unionist Edi Lazzi and, in March, three other literary events. The appointment with Messener is instead scheduled for March 26 at 4.30 pm in Bardonecchia (free admission, compulsory booking at the tourist office) and in Almese at 8 pm, admission 10 euros.
