Vincent van Gogh’s “unexposed sketches” made public for the first time in Amsterdam, the Netherlands | HYPEBEAST

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, this week officially exhibited Vincent van Gogh’s never-exposed painting “Study for’Worn Out'” (temporary translation), created in the form of a pencil sketch, depicting a hunched over Man, showing a look of exhaustion.

“Study for’Worn Out'” has been a local private collection in the Netherlands since the beginning of 1900, and the Van Gogh Museum has identified it as authentic based on the style of the work and the materials used. It is understood that this work can be traced back to 1882 when Van Gogh lived in The Hague (The Hague), and it can be inferred that it was completed in November of that year, because its style and results are very similar to the early work “Worn Out”; At that time, Vincent van Gogh painted many paintings about grieving figures bowing their heads and hiding their faces. He also mentioned the description of these old man paintings in a letter to his brother Teo: “What a fine sight an old working man makes, in his patched bombazine suit with his bald head.」

“Study for’Worn Out” and “Worn Out” are currently on display at the Van Gogh Museum. Interested readers can click here to go to the official website to learn more.
