Watches and Wonders in Geneva, the largest fair in the world dedicated to fine watchmaking, has ended and was finally able to take place in person (from March 30 to April 5) after two years of forced stop.

Once through the entrance turnstiles, it was impossible not to notice an electric and enthusiastic atmosphere among all the insiders (the format provides for access by invitation by the organization): the desire to return to see each other physically and to touching the watches with your hand after a long time was very high. And this event, starring 38 important fashion houses, 19 of which are making their debut in Geneva, allowed this to happen in just one location.

Twenty-two thousand visitors to the post-pandemic kermesse

The numbers released by the organization with 22,000 visitors (1,000 journalists) are emblematic and, net of the absences from countries where there are still restrictions for travelers, very satisfactory. During the week, the fair recorded 1,700 Touch & Feel moments dedicated to the media, 20 keynotes organized by the brands, over seven thousand appointments with sales dealers and 4,500 attendees at the Time Design exhibition set up within the event and dedicated to the style of watches in the years, which from 14 to 8 May will be re-proposed in Geneva city and open to the public.

Virtual visitors at 155 thousand

The hybrid dimension of Watches and Wonders should not be forgotten. Parallel to the face-to-face meeting inside the Palexpo, another 2,600 accredited journalists were able to attend about 80 digital presentations and experience the event remotely through the official platform which in total (between the free access part and the one dedicated to invited users) registered about 155 thousand unique users.

To these numbers must be added those that estimate 350 million people and 800 thousand posts that have mentioned the hashtag #watchesandwonders on the various social platforms. In light of all this traffic, and obviously thanks to the launch of the new watchmaking innovations of the exhibiting brands (Cartier, Rolex, Patek Philippe Iwc, Panerai, Vacheron Constantin, Chanel, A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Hublot, Tag Heuer , Tudor, Zenith, Roger Dubuis, Van Cleef & Arpels, Piaget, Baume & Mercier, Chanel, Chopard, Grand Seiko, Hermès, Ulysse Nardin, Oris and Parmigiani Fleurier) and those of the 14 independent and artisanal brands present in the Carré des sector Horlogers, the balance of the organizers is positive.
