with Malatini on the bench Werder Bremen defeated Bayern Munich away

After the agonizing victory of the leader Leverkusen against Leipzig, Bayern Munich received Werder Bremen and lost by the minimum. The defender, ex-Talleres, Julián Malatini witnessed the victory of his new team from the bench. The Colombian, ex-River, Rafael Santos Borré was also a substitute for Werder Bremen and came on in the second half. It was Bayern’s first home defeat in the current Bundesliga.

The team led by Tomas Tuchel was the one that attempted the most with 22 shots of which 7 were on goal and control of possession of almost 70% but Werder Bremen was more effective and took the victory.

Their advantage could have even been greater but at 25 minutes into the first half the referee annulled through VAR what would have been Werder Bremen’s first goal due to a previous foul on Jamal Musiala at the beginning of the play.

Likewise, this did not stop the Verdiblancos and in the 59th minute of the game Mitchell Weiser filtered through the left of the Bundesliga champion’s defense and scored with a very strong left foot shot to beat Manuel Neuer and make it 1-0 which was final.

At the end of the match, goalkeeper Michael Zetterer made a notable save to prevent a tie against Bayern Munich, who tried by various means but could not achieve equality.

With this defeat, Bayern Munich continues as the runner-up but loses ground to Bayer Leverkusen. Those led by Tomas Tuchel have 41 points, while Xabi Alonso’s team has 48 points. Bayern will host Unión Berlin next Wednesday to make up a match from matchday 13 of the Bundesliga.
