DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — At least seven workers from the World Central Kitchen charity were killed Monday in an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip, the organization said early Tuesday.
The organization founded by the famous chef José Andrés said that among the deceased were citizens of Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom and a person with dual US and Canadian citizenship. At least one Palestinian was also killed, the group said, without providing a detailed breakdown.
The workers were delivering desperately needed food aid to the area, which had arrived by sea on Monday, when they were hit on Monday night. Israel has said it is investigating the incident.
