Berlin – The 12th Congress of the German Alzheimer Society for Self-Help Dementia (DAlzG) will take place in Fürth from October 10th to 12th, 2024. The motto of the congress is “Dementia: Look. Help. Act.” and is aimed at full-time and voluntary people involved in advice, support, care and therapy, people with dementia and their relatives as well as those active in science and politics.

Call for Abstracts

Interested parties from a wide range of areas can submit their briefly summarized suggestions for presentations on a variety of congress topics until March 14, 2024. Information about abstract submission: www.demenz-kongress.de/abstracts.html

“Look. Help. Act.”

“The topic of dementia is being discussed more and more frequently,” says Monika Kaus, first chairwoman of the DAlzG. “However, too many people with dementia and their relatives still experience that they are left alone and excluded from life in the community. The number of people suffering from dementia will rise from the current 1.8 million to up to 2.8 million by 2050 – unless a real breakthrough in therapy is achieved. The high and increasing number of patients, the long course of the disease and the great burden on those affected and their relatives are a challenge for society as a whole. But many people still don’t see this. At this congress we want to exchange ideas, concepts and practical experiences on how this challenge can be met. The aim is to look closely, help where it is needed and act in such a way that a dementia-sensitive society grows that is open to everyone.”

Around 700 participants are expected in Fürth for the 12th Congress of the German Alzheimer Society in 2024.
