Dr. Claudia Castiglioni and her team at the Pain Therapy Center have made a groundbreaking medical breakthrough in treating chronic pain. Using the innovative system “InceptivTM,” the team successfully implanted a spinal cord neurostimulator in a patient suffering from intractable low back pain for years.
The patient, who had tried various treatments without success, experienced over an 80% reduction in pain during the trial period with the neurostimulator. Dr. Castiglioni and her team ultimately decided to permanently implant the device, marking a significant improvement in the patient’s quality of life.
The Pain Therapy team is among the first in Italy, and the first in Lombardy, to offer the latest generation pacemaker with “Closed loop” technology to chronic pain patients.
