On 16 March the curtain was raised on edition number 18 of James Dyson Awardthe annual competition dedicated to Engineering and Product Design students promoted by the James Dyson Foundation, with the opening of registrations (here the page for Italy).

Among the novelties that will please the participants, the fact that it was increased the cash prize for the national winners, which will be unveiled in September and will be able to use this sum to take their first steps in the world of entrepreneurship: this year they will take home 5900 euros to develop their invention, more than double the amount assigned in previous years. Since 2005, the James Dyson Award has challenged undergraduates and recent graduates in Engineering and Design to “design the solution to a problem” and today, the competition has supported more than 285 inventions with cash prizes. Aimed at a wide and open audience, the tender encourages students to solve big global problems: previous winners, for example, have found solutions for accessibility to plastic recycling, excessive blood loss from cuts. and the improvement of home medical diagnostics.
