Assistance to Nearly 1,000 Children at Family Meeting Points in Castilla-La Mancha

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has announced that nearly 1,000 girls and boys have been assisted at the eight Family Meeting Points in the region during 2023, with over 7,300 interviews conducted. The regional Family Meeting Points Program has served 689 families and 979 minors, with multidisciplinary teams of psychologists, social workers, and educators facilitating the meetings of minors with non-custodial parents and other members of the biological family.

The Family Meeting Point is aimed at providing support to fathers, mothers, legal guardians, siblings, or extended family members of minors in crisis situations due to separation, divorce, or family conflict. Specialized professional teams provide temporary intervention to help normalize the relationship of the different parts of the family unit, contributing to the emotional and affective development of the minors.

Until 2022, there were seven family meeting points, and a new point in Hellín was opened in April 2023 to improve the quality of care for children and parents in the province of Albacete. The program is carried out in collaboration with the Amifam and Colabora entities, with a total allocated amount of 1,489,779.20 euros for 2023 through a subsidy from the General Directorate of Childhood and Family.
