77-Year-Old Fitness Influencer Joan MacDonald Inspires Millions with Her Incredible Transformation

It’s never too late to start taking care of yourself. Joan MacDonald, a 77-year-old native of Ontario, Canada, is a crystal clear example. Today she is a true fitness “social star”, with an Instagram profile that has 1.8 million followers, to whom she gives advice on how to stay fit and plan workouts.

His journey began seven years ago, when he started training to lose weight. Struck by her love for physical exercise, she decided not to limit herself to this, increasing her protein consumption and transforming care for her body into a full-time passion.

For Joan, who in the meantime has lost 30 kilos and shows the results of her efforts on the web, it is not just a question of improving appearances, but of a way to change one’s life for the better from several points of view. “Seven years ago I never thought that all this was possible, but here I am at 77 years old, for over four years I have weighed about 60 kilos and I am 161 centimeters tall,” she says. “A transformation that goes far beyond the physical appearance. I realize this more every day. For me it means not only leaving behind excess kilos, but also a way of seeing myself and the world that weighed me down so much.”

One of the key aspects of keeping fit, in addition to working in the gym, is nutrition which for Joan must be rigorous, but leave room for taste. “I control what I eat. If I want to eat something I plan it among my daily macroingredients, I don’t improvise. I’m not willing to give up the ease with which planning allows me to eat what I want and still stay fit.”
