New this year is the proposal of daily thematic analysis: Monday 12 February is dedicated to atrial fibrillation; Tuesday 13th at Cardioncology and Gender Cardioncology; Wednesday 14th at Gender Cardiology; Thursday 15th will be the turn of heart failure and finally Friday 16th the focus on the prevention of modifiable risk factors.
An initiative as important as it is timely: even today cardiovascular diseases represent the leading cause of death in Italy, being responsible for 44% of all deaths. Those who survive a heart attack become chronically ill, with compromised quality of life and significant economic costs for society.
The availability of the Mirandola cardiologists in favor of the territory is a further demonstration of the department’s commitment to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, in addition obviously to all the activity dedicated to their diagnosis and treatment: in 2023 the Santa Maria Bianca department provided a total of 16,600 services, of which 5,000 cardiological visits, 3,400 echocardiograms and 600 stress tests.
